CMI has designed, fabricated, and performed full spaceflight qualification testing on many filters from 10 to 200 GHz. Filters are designed for optimum RF performance, size/mass, and manufacturability.
By combining precision RF CAD tools, 40+ years of RF design experience, and novel fabrication methods, CMI is able to produce high performance filters with no tuning screws.
This leads to improved power handling, very low levels of PIM, and the elimination of bench tuning time and risks.
Depending on the application, filters may be manufactured by direct machining or copper or aluminum, or by copper electroforming for high mechanical strength and very low PIM.
For filters requiring a minimal frequency variation over temperature, CMI has a proprietary fabrication process to produce highly stable filters using Invar as the base material, but with low loss and high selectivity without the use of tuning screws
CMI can custom design filters to meet your specific RF and mechanical requirements.
